Started by Molly and Fritz Machmer-Wessels, WDC believes in offering unparalleled services and delivering superior-quality results.
Molly Machmer-Wessels
After graduating with a degree in Fashion Design from Kent State University, Molly embarked on her first renovation with her husband Fritz. Once the project was over, she couldn’t wait to start the next. After finding a stately, abandoned brick-colonial in Shaker Heights, Molly knew what her next adventure would be. As friends and neighbors stopped by to offer encouragement and check out the progress, they couldn’t help but ask for help on their own design projects. Once the ball was rolling and her work became known around the community, starting a full-blown company was the obvious next step. Molly soon convinced Fritz to come on board, and together they started Woodland Design Company.
Fritz Machmer-Wessels
Fritz started landscape design work during college and ran a landscaping and construction company with his lifelong friend. After growing the business for a few years, Fritz sold his portion and moved on to new endeavors. But the bug to design and build things soon bit him again, and he was asked to helm a large commercial development project which took 18 months to complete. Soon after, he and Molly joined forces. Today Fritz manages all of the building projects and oversees the property management portion of the business.
