This brick colonial needed a complete overhaul from head to toe. It was important to keep the design fresh and current while staying true to the home’s historic roots. Blending vibrant colors with more traditional elements throughout the home achieved the look.
In the kitchen, we used a tumbled black and white marble basket weave floor along with classic white subway tile for the backsplash and range hood. Black low profile French doors and oversized dome pendants, along with brass fixtures and pulls give the space an up to date finish while still feeling classically inspired.
The master bathroom features an oversized soaking tub and generous shower enclosure with two heads and shower valves. Rather than a double vanity, we opted for double pedestals with stand-alone storage, giving the room a very symmetrical and unique feel. Chrome fittings and fixtures and a coat of deep navy blue paint finished the space.
The basement was waterproofed and re-framed in order to provide a family room / lounge area with a bar. Utilizing a textured wood porcelain floor tile and antique rug, the space was finished to mimic the rest of the house. A custom bar with bookended carrara counters and a herringbone carrara tile fireplace surround give the space a traditional feel with an updated background palette of grey walls. The James Bond themed art behind the bar was custom made.
